This may not always be true, but if a local LFS carries the fish, then its gotta be legal. I dont think any legit LFS will risk their business to sneak illegal fish.

You'd be surprised...I've seen many lfs that have Gars which are prohibited in Ca.

yup I think i just picked up a gar that maybe illegal here...not sure but its a Lepisosteus oculatus.

sorry i dont believe you have a 5" exodon. and yes theyre legal in CA
