I have only had success with plecos. My choice is albino bushynose. They are hardy and cheap. Somewhat attractive and cheap to replace if they get killed. So far my exos ignore them.
I have tried Synos, and Cories. They have all been killed or had all there fins eaten before I could get them out. They are pretty much a species only fish unless you find a inactive bottom feeder.

i have had megaladoras irwini with them before.
it would also depend on the amount of exodons in the tank.;)

its funny you go to the lfs and they got them with everything, the had them with gourmis and other tetras but then again they do not know better so my best bet is to try a bottom dweller

i know that people keep these guys alone and in species tank. But what my question is has anybody keep these guys with cichlids or have seen it. i figured if u keep the tank well feed that they would be alright with some cichlids.

how would cory cats do??

The thing with cory's is, you will need a group. 2 types of cory cats and ottos are collected from the same area as exodons. A single fiah will be attacked and killed. I'd suggest a group of 5+, though I don't know for sure what a good minimum would be.
I personally have a small school of ottos in one of my exodon tanks.

i dropped a convict into an exo tank once.
bye bye convict.
that answers your question.
it DOES NOT WORK.

BahahahH. Indeed. LOL.

Same would happen if you add 1 of just about anything. But as was already said, cichlids will be either to aggressive or not aggressive enough. Either way, cichlids are not happening.
