Here, iguana hunters lite the mountain on fire to drive them out, so beside frying buried eggs, they kill many other things in the process, and sometimes put homes in danger (I think this is part of the impetus for the law) although the iguana population has dropped significantly lately.
The P-bass came from someone who had a pond with 6 ocellaris(?) in the 60s, they escaped during the rainy season, and have basically taken over the lake, eliminating many endemics.
We just do a beer/bread coating, and fry in oil, nice delicate flaky fillets.
There is a P-bass fishing jamboree every year, and people come from all over the world
The lake is quite beautiful, a large part of the Panama Canal, and full of surprises.

Sad that they do so much damage in order to chase the iguanas out to be captured.Hope the law at least puts a stop to the burnings.
I'm just picturing that scene in my head krich. The guy looks at you, narrowing his eyes menacingly and says "if it moves, we eat it". And then you let out a nervous giggle making sure to be absolutely still, soiling your trousers at the same time. Haha.
We were the ones with presents for the panhandling monkeys (banana pieces), and when they are full, we'd toss them a cut lime, and they'd use the juice to wash their hands.

Haha......he actually made that mention quite a while before the cookout came up and apparently he and his family left that small part of their culture behind as I eventually came to enjoy quite a few meals(pork ribs and chicken lol) at his yard gatherings.....only issue was they liked to have dinner rather late in the evening.
