A breeding group of black rays shipped delta cargo
My buddy paid 1000 for shipping on 4 fish, after hearing that i'll never complain about shipping cost again
Seriously wow! Guess I shouldn't be complaining then about spending $150.lol! Still it does sound like a lot was it an overseas shipment and how big where those bad boys and the container they where in. I'm betting custom wooden water tight box essentially.
Guess I took to long typing just saw your response after posting mine.lol!
While I have noticed a difference in shipping rates between vendors, there is a lot of factors that would cause prices to be different.
* Carrier
* Location
* Package size
* Package weight
* Gas prices
* Unspecified hangling fees
* etc
All of which can effect prices. I personally wish some vendors gave you more options, I find it hard to justify spending $100+ on shipping when you are spending $50 on fish. When I order on the western side of the country, I can usually get overnight shipping through USPS for under $40 and under $70 for eastern side. Fedex has screwed me over twice, UPS 4 times (for non fish related shipments), and never had an issue with USPS. Its cheaper and for me at least gets the job done.
Yeah I figured the same things but I had 2 different vendors in the same location using the same carrier same overnight guaranteed by 10:30am same weight and dimensions of the box and one vendor quoted me at $60 and the other $156. I don't say who they are as I don't want to seem like I'm attacking anybody and their prices. I was just really surprised at the price and couldn't figure out why there was such a huge discrepancy.
