Expert opinions on rhino lined ply tank?

My concern with using pool pumps is the inefficiency. My pool pump is a small one, and its a 110v 8.5 amp pump, thats almost 1000 watts! Overtime you'd be better off spending $ on decent efficient pump or two, instead of throwing your money away to electricity.

If you really want to use the existing walls, I would double up the 2x6s behind the tank to be sure you dont get any bowing.

Thanks for the input on the motors johnWhats your opinion on metal frame verses block and metal frame for viewing window?And acrylic verses glass viewing window?How thick are yours?And are they glass or acrylic?PS. I am coming to this years meet no matter what!!!! look forward to meeting you!!Maybe i can get a few pointers from you.

the windows are 2 in thick plexi ( cell cast )

i went with an opening the the block then framed it with Stainless Steel angle........so far no problems.

as the windows get big the glass gets heavy and unless its high end ( $$) may have a greenish cast depending on its thickness.

I did not think about the glass haven to much color at that thick .I am going to have to go back to your build thread and check it out the block with a stainless frame seams to be a better idea than the metal frame alone thanks !!also john my viewing window will only be 36 inchs tall.I wonder if i could get away with less than 2 inch on the cell cast?Maybe 1 inch or 1 and a half?Also the length of the window will only be 8 FT.
