naw thats just when you let the water level get too low, other than that its very soothing

i like aquaclears now because you can put extra filtration in them (kinda like mini canisters). i think i will go w/ the 70, but is the 50 enough filtration for the fish i want to keep? if it is then i will go w/ it. i can upgrade later if i have to.

Aquaclear is the way to go, but if I was setting up the tank I would get the biggest one I could get. check petsmarts website for pricing, then have them match it. or as someone else stated, big als online. They have great prices that petsmarts around here match with no hassle

You should get the Magnum Hang on back filter... works Awsome, cost around $50-$60, and is really quiet...IMO maybe the most quiet filter i've seen.

All the above mentioned are all good filters... Personally, i would probably go with the Aquaclear500. Then the Emperors right behind them.
