so i've got a armoured bichir (polypterus delhezi) and i've had him for a couple months now. he's about 4-5 inches and he's still got external gills. i've been feeding him on a diet of freezedried blood worm and mysis shrimp, frozen beefheart, and everynow and then sinking pellets. he's grown about three inches since i've gotten him but he still has external gills? How old or how large will he be before these dissapear? my senegal has never had them and i got her when she was about 3 inches.
