I've always been captivated by prehistoric scenery w/ a number of animal in the artists' eyes what they would or could have looked like - scenes like this really pull me in and make me feel like i'm there sometimes (esp. pic #2) and give you an idea how things were in prehistoric ecosystems, here we have Australia during the Pleistoscene

Helicoprion

Bawitius bartheli (Basically a 9ft. Polypterus)

Anomalocaris

Eusthenopteron (My personal favorite)

But not all my favorites are extinct

Sawfish/ Pristidae (My favorite Monster fish)

Sturgeon/Acipenseridae (I took this picture at the Seattle Aquarium)

There has been some talk about cloning these guys(quagga are pretty cool).
Not really a species but a extinct variety:wooly(long haired)cheetah,no longer occurs.

I saw something at a zoo a few years back that looked something like a Quagga... forgot what it was called.
