If they said diamondback, then it's probably some type of diamondback terrapin as posted above

oh yea well i found the lockness
monster in my pool also:). Sorry man but with no pics it could just be some crazy lady with the "too many cat syndrome" saying that the turtle is extinct when it could easily not be.

lol rough crowd here . It was just a harmless statement from a woman who thought it was extinct .

Keep in mind you know diff turtle's and which are threatened, which aren't,etc this lady is simply someone who doesn't know herps.

We have a Tokay that is rather robust and I see once in a while by side of house on the wall chasing house geckoes at night .
First time my wife saw it she ran inside screaming there was an alligator on the wall .

People don't know .

# so help me if last thing I do I will get a good pic of it to post but so far have only gotten it's outline and 1/4 of it.
I want a no mistake about it clear Tokay pic .

I didnt read the whole thread all I got were black turtle found in Jersey thats endangered. Bog Turtle was the only one that fit that description, until I scrolled down and read they said it was a diamond tetra turtle lol
