extra barbel

about a month ago my 22" silver jumped and scraped his jaw on the lid of my 300g. he had a long piece of skin that was sticking up and i figured it would fall off or something but it didnt and now he has an extra barbel. what should i do? should i just leave it alone? it dosn't seem to bother him.
