I have the same issue with my 1000 gallon. I decided to buy two heavy duty magnets and make it. Or pay $900-$1200 for one. For now I have two Flag tails cleaning the algae. 😊 I have the link you can buy 2 magnets.

How thick is your acrylic ? Do you think it will work for 3 inch acrylic?

my tank is 2 1/2 inches. You can actually buy magnet different strength. Amazon has them cheaper to buy these then spend almost $1200 that is made for aquarium only. Trust me it works.

This one will be perfect for 3 inch thickness. Just but two. Tie a rope on the one that is going to be inside the tank, incase it drops bottom. You can find fine micro material that will clean the algae from inside and prevent scratching outside
