I inherited some fish from a similar setup two where stunted and mishapen. 3 where fine, and one was mentally deranged(killed himself swallowing gravel) albeit physically fine. Just saying you have a chance he'll be alright, I'd say 50/50.

It was in a 125 gallon until I found it. It is now in a 20 gallon tank with a puffer.

Yeah, I'm just wondering how this will turn out. I hope I fall on the good side of 50/50 lol.

He will still grow normal as long as you do not continue to neglect him.

He could very well be fine and attain full size. Ive pulled a few fish out of filters that eventually got as big as the rest.
