Extremely aggressive

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That’s a FH in a community tank! No aggression but he’s also blind in one eye.

The agressive part i got. trust me but as far as size for a year old fh is really small. around 3.5"

Well yeah it is genetically defect and bred to be a small chunky little ball of aggression. Me personally think its disturbing that these genes are desirable amongst FH fanatics.

Its just like and dwarf, midget, little people or what ever you wanna call it. Its still a genetic defect that makes them that small. They still grow their intestants and organs the same size as an normal sized FH.

But enough derailing of your thread. This is another topic to discuss another day.

Sure, I've seen it done, it's just not commonly done for the reasons already stated.
I agree. I’ve personally seen someone with piranhas in a community tank lol.
What FH? You must be talking about the colorfull photobombing blob on the pic? My eyes got cought on the rays :nilly::ROFL::headbang2
That blob went through it all. His life started in a ziplock bag before I came along lol!

What a ziplock bag? But so many questions pop up right now.

First of a disclaimer: i’ve never been a FH fan, but thats interesting to hear...

Coz over here in Asia where i live, we have soft water with lower PH, yet a lot of the FH here have very large nuchal humps, so i wonder if its more to do with genetics than water parameters...

For sure genetics pretty much trumps all (esp. when it comes to nuchal hump size), these other things were talking about are mostly grooming techniques/theories to help one get the very best out of their FH's given genetics. And to be clear I'm not advising people to start playing with their PH levels. While it's not really possible to easily prove, my thinking is that the FH in your area of Asia would have even bigger humps and have even more vibrant coloration/pearling if they grew up in water with naturally higher PH, just my opinion.
