Extremely Cloudy Water Problem

The tank is only a 25 gallon so the only filtration is an aquaclear 30 filter. nothing amazing or special but it has proven worthy until a month or so ago. I have tried frequent water changes but nothing seems to make the water clear. I have tried replacing the filter inserts aswell (not all at once of course). I really don't know what else to try. Any help would be lovely

Two questions. When you do your water change do you vacuum the gravel/sand? And what is your media?

did you cycle the tank? was is it stocked with?

sounds like a bacterial bloom...cut down on feeding for a few days and that should help clear it up

Cloudy/smelly tanks usually mean too much food into tank, not enough out. So....less food, more water changes....

if youve got a UV bulb thats would make your tank cloudy

get a bigger filter.
