extremely silver jardinii.... what is it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
nice aro for sure. as was mentioned above i have also seen jars like that at the lfs then when they put them over dark gravel they darken and show more pink. or there is the rare chance it is a platinum jar...but that is prob not the case...

You didn't by chance get this from aquabid did you? GOLDEN XBACK AUSTRALIAN AROWANA......could've just been kept with a certain colored gravel and background. Give him a dark gravel and background and watch him adapt. I think he looks pretty darn good as is.

i tend to like the darker colors, when i painted my tank background black, he got alot darker, non the less a very sexy jar

in the shop, it was there for a coupel weeks, dark back and substrate.
was still same colour
has not changed colour since i got it. substrate is light, but no change since coming from dark substrate

Like mentioned earlier: genes, diet, tank enviroment, light affects the Jardini's coloration. ;) Since your tank is light color, that can be the main reason to explain why you have a light color Jardini.

I have seen the fish, yes to those who say jars have an element of shine, this one however is sooo much whiter than my one, I liken it to a high shine silver aro - pics don't expose its true colouration very well.

Eliminate the flash on your camera and 90% of the "shine" will be gone. Then we can better see it's true color

Give it a dark background, you'll see a change within a day. My jardini was really gold and dark when I had a dark background. When I moved it to a bigger tank with no background, it went light within a few hours.

x2 just put my jar and my bichir in a yellow white sand tank and light blue back ground and the color changed almost immediately.
