Hi everyone, thanks for all the nice comments.
To answer a few questions, the male is about 13" and the female is approximately 11".
Peathenster-actually this is the only female I've ever put with this male. She was a rescue with a huge wound, down to the meat, that I nursed back to health. It was his mother that killed many males before hooking up with his F0 father who was about double her size. So I bred this Festae and grew him out. After that, the mother was killed by a big Grammodes and I sold the father for a hefty sum.
As far as breeding, lately I've not had much luck. They laid eggs twice in the community tank and both times ended up eating them. I've been more worried about growing them out to a large size than getting fry so I kept them in the community tank for about a year.
Now I've moved them to a little more secluded tank to see if they'll be sucessful at spawning. I hope they're not too old to want to deal with fry.
Wish me luck!!
