Hi,

you are right that small fish get boring quick. The reason i wanted a big school of zebra danio is that it duplicate a big school of fish swimming in the open ocean. I,m facisnated by the great white shark and the ocean.

It's such a sight to watc them closely follow one another among the plants. I have my rainbow shark at the bottom which act as the shark. WIsh i could put small fish like those with a id shark.

tetra are only cool when you can keep a giant school of them. It does gets boring after a while

Fish i find boring

african chicids
discus
angel
pleco except the common pleco
Goldfish but i have a soft spot for the black moor
Guppy
betta

Love all natural looking South American cichlids and Giant Danios ... Barbus Schwanefeldi too

I really love all CA cichlids, livebarers, and tetras. Thorichthys, herichthys and cribroheros are my favorite genus. I love all wild type livebarers and astyanax are my favorite tetras.

I like just about everything that swims. Fancy goldfish, balloon bodied fish, and intentionally hybridized fish are the only fish I can think of that I wouldn't be interested in keeping at some point.

Add any type of puffer fish to my list. They seem very popular around here but I never cared much for them.

I'd eventually quite keeping fish if I couldn't keep my rays, I don't think it would be worthwhile if I didnt have them. I love growing them from small pups, potential for breeding (I've had 2 successful litters and 1 aborted litter).

I used to have a thing for Datnoids and have kept several different types for long periods of time but in the end realize they are just overhyped and suck (in my opinion). I grew out 4 NTTs to about 6" before selling them, I had 2 ATs grown out to about 10-11" and an IT to 16". They all just sit there looking dumb, colors fading in and out without ever getting a lot of interaction or activity.

I absolutely love predatory characins, my favorite being the African Tiger Fish. And next up are datnoids. I don't hate any particular specie of fish but one thing I do have a distaste for are short body fish.

Oh, puffers are another one that are on my list of "why". Lol. I don't find their looks/shape interesting and they basically seem to be the "pit bull" of the aquarium, being that they seem to be great for a long time and then one day decide to shred everything in the tank. Again, jmo.

I don't like characins. I used to dislike any and all cichlids or fancy goldfish, but I am starting to like them more and more. My tastes change. It really depends on how much money I have when I set up a tank. My dream tank used to be soft water, low ph, aro, bichir, knife, but now it is brackish Anebleps and hogchoker. It will probably change again before I get a new tank. I used to say I hated guppies, but I currently own ~40 of them....
