Hello Guys! I work for a state agency that raises all types of fish, from time to time we have something show up in the eyes of Large mouth bass. the out come turns out 2 ways good or bad. Im trying to find some answers on what these spots are that show up in eyes from time to time.. and the best solutions to treat them . looks as if it starts from inside and slowly comes to the surface. These fish are held in a 475gal holding tank when isolated but as a whole about 8500 gal system equipped with ozone towers and 4 huge bio filters. I can isolate single tanks and hook up chiller/heaters systems we call crash carts equipped with uv light.
Ph runs around 8
hardness 95
Alk 95
ammonia/Nitrates are rarely a problem , we usually only hold 4 or 5 fish in the whole system at a time big gals 13+
Im hoping to post a few pics of the problems and get some feed back and answers on best solutions I can use, which legally very limited.. due to these gals being released back into lakes with the possibility of human consumption. but would like to know different options as some fish become display fish and we can treat them as needed .
Thanks guys!

This particular fish has not been treated as of yet, as I was saying we are very limited on what we can legally use on the fish here unless she becomes display fish that we will keep indefinitely, if you know what I mean :) in the past on "display fish" we have used salts, formalin , Mgreen, Mblue, potassium, copper, formalight some out turns are good some bad. as of now this gal can only be treated as a fish to be released back into the wild so VERY Limited on what we can use.

I see. If it does become a display fish then maybe some prazipro would help (with repeat dosing x3 due to suspected eggs). See what Tom has to say as well Aquanero Aquanero .

When you say it goes two ways. Good or bad. What happens in the cases of it going bad? Do you have any fish that die from it?

This might be worth reading.

If any have died, or can be scarified a necropsy could be helpful to pin point the problem.
Thanks I will give it a good look over tomarrow at work, hard to see from my phone. Unfortunately we have not been able to necropsy one with this ailment. We have not lost one of the big gals in very long time. They are on lone to us from anglers, most of the time they come to us, in pretty good shape but sometimes not so good. We spawn them then they are released back into the lake they come from. The off spring are raised up to a good size and released into different lakes throughout the state. In cases were we have lost one. The fish goes back to angler so they can mount her if they so choose. I'm sure some of you have herd of the program in which I speak.
We really appreciate feedback as sometimes we are left scratching our heads trying to do what we can.
