Eyes Very Swollen!!!

Sorry for taking so long to respond.
I am a student and during final exams, I had not changed his water in over two months. When I found he was sick, I did weekly 50% water changes as well as medicating the tank. The temp is around 76 degrees the past couple weeks.
The time has come where I need to take him out of his misery...tonight...he is stuck in a C shape position and is belly up...but still breathing and kicking his tail whenever I tap on his tank.
He is over a footlong and I don't want to experience slamming against a wall...
I am on my way to CVS or Walmart to find clove oil right now...if I can't find that, I am going to put him in a bucket of iced water.
Again, this is my own fault, I neglected him...thank everyone for their time and advice. In a few hours, he will not suffer anymore.

Yeah man that sucks. Ammonia is the number one killer of fish out in the hobby world. If you decide to get back into fish later on, do it when you're able to dedicate time and resources to it. Those weekly water changes are absolutely essential to keeping fish happy and healthy. Sorry for your loss.

Bucket of ive water is far worse than bag and bang. Far far worse.

Bag and bang takes a tenth of a second.

Wow, that is the worst pop eye I have ever seen.
I also agree with Miguels method, not pretty, but effective for the sake of the fish.

I found some clove oil at CVS last night...the whole process took about 45 mins. I think I used about 15 drops of eugenol. He had a very peaceful ending. He just slept...after he fell asleep, I dosed him twice more within a 15 min time frame. I watched him the whole time and pet him every 10 mins or so. I am sad that it has come to this...but I am thankful for the clove oil. I am sure he didn't feel any pain at all. I never saw him in distress while I was dosing him with the clove oil. I'm surprised at how a few of those drops can do so much to a fish.

Good ending to a sad story.

Clove is still the best way. Glad you found it.
