Some more info, the 6" jack dempsey has a ton of facial expression. The ebjd has been successfully kept with guppies in the past. Just to be safe though i would recommend mollys as they get bigger and bulkier. and buy them as big as possible to start with. The datnoid and the featherfin have an insatiable appetite. the featherfin prefers to eat from the top. When she swims upside down it generally means shes happy. She is a synodontis and they are african catfishes. The featherfin is normally not too skinny, not too fat. but after feeding her a lot she does get pretty fat. She has the ability to go hungry for weeks after a large feeding because her belly acts as a storage device hence the fatness. She is in the upside down catfish genus of synodontis so dont get worried if she swims upside down on occasions. This is a good sign. She is called a featherfin squeeker because of their ability to rub the pectoral fins together creating a squeeking noise which serves as a warning to the other fish not to bother her. In the 2 years I have had her I have only heard her squeek once. She does need adequate territory on the bottom as she does have a tendancy to chase other bottom dwellers when they enter her line of sight/turf.
