I got 4 Honduran Redpoints from FishFarm about 3 weeks ago, two females, two males. They are from his wild pair he caught in honduras. Just thought id share some pics of them. It seems two of them may have paired up and darkened in color. One of the females looks quite different from the other three not too sure why.

Let me know what yas think.

I love HRP's. I've got one 4" male that was one of my first cichlids. I had no idea how big it would get, what colors, anything. The one thing I did know is that the one would live comfortably in my newly aquired 55. He's definately the most interactive fish I have ever owned, although my other SA/CA's in my 180 have gotten better.

Im not quite sure if they are Rio mongo or Blanco. Is there a way to tell the difference? Thats probably a question for Fishfarm.

It does seem they want to use the side of that rock for the spawning site, it is very tight spot and the male has been removing the rocks in that area.

I think they are Rio Mongo, or that's what Ken had when I bought HRP from him a couple summers ago at ACA.

HRP are from the Rio Monga, The Rio Blanco fish I sell are C. spilurum, which is hundreds of miles from where HRP exist. The one female is a little younger and from a different set of parents, I had two males and a female from one batch and got a female from another to go with, Give you some different genectics since the other three are syblings. They look good. Ken

Quick question, What is the difference between HRPs and plain ole Cons?
