F2 Escondido

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Azk. This is not a FH.
:banhim:

The fish looks like Escondido race but it doesnt have worming patterns in front of the face.. strange. I expect all Escondidos and Vontehillo race to have that

Looks very typical Escondido. Vontehillos wont have the worming on the face or head. F1 Vont below.

maybe just different quality. You've seen MTBjake's C. vont. You know what I mean. I've never owned a C vont before.

Thanks for the compliment animal guy. From what I understand the "s"gt is just opinion and nothing concrete whatsoever but tends to run in the vontehillos and escondidos and the other locations like those(forget the names). My Vontehillo is from Cavamart and is directly related to the male he has in the picture a couple of posts up.
Op, your little male has a lot of potential. Mine is the dominant fish in his tank and I keep him fed on NLS, a little Massivore and some algae wafers and he has great colors. Good luck!

Nice fish MTBjake.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't a green Texas with or without the (s) a hybrid? If so I have no idea why sgt was brought up in the first place as it would have no relevance to an f2 fish.

No a green Texas is not a hybrid at all. They are a naturally occurring fish in southern Mexico. True name is Heirichthys Carpintis. The "s" is there based solely on opinion so technically it could be f37 and if its colors are "super" then it would be dubbed "sgt".

Ok thought it was a hybrid variant like the red "Texas" cichlids. I didn't know that that was another name for carprintis... great fish Jake and OP.
