Male dovii X red terror threatening female BB ( 9", 3 yrs. old) who had fry at the time, though the fry are not in the picture. Witnessed 3 scraps last month between the 2 and the hybrid got his butt kicked each time. Now he exists as a subordinate, putting his fins down and showing his belly every time he passes by her. Good in a way except he's now more brownish colored instead of the yellow he used to be. She's probably 3x his weight or more, though i'll have to watch out as things might change once he gets bigger .
Female BB threatening with young male BB (8", 14 months old). She used him to fertilize her eggs and then immediatly gave him the boot after they were done spawning. Now his in another tank with the cons and others because the hybrid was harrassing him too much.
Two female BB's ( 6" +, 1 yr. old) backing off alittle after threatening each other. They spend a good portion of their day threatening but rarely ever make contact. Recently, the young male BB is starting to control them and chase them away as soon as they start to threaten.
I agree, that fish is incredible. But is that really a lyonsi threatening with that trimac? Not exactly certain what it is, but I would of thought maybe an "exCichlasoma" bocourti.
This is a really cool thread; lots of great pictures ---- I especially like the pics from Greenterra and cchhcc.
