They can, but not the larger species, only freshies can. They are actually very fast.

I said RUN on purpose lmao, ive heard run, "RUN" means longer distance WTF???


ive heard johnstons crocs "RUN" at 15mph, which i get is fast lol

Yep, freshies are the fastest. I saw a special about these guys and they showed them running in slow motion. They actually "gallop" like a horse. Some of the primitive crocs looked much different then todays surviving species. Some were long legged and actually chased down prey on land.
 
Can I just interject and ask this, why would scientists, biologists, animals experts, zoologists all say the same thing, "at or around 30 mph" if in fact its not true? Is this some sort of grassy knoll-like conspiracy? Maybe the government wants us all to fear crocs and one day, o one day, they will release them upon us and we will all turn to stone with fear. I personally say you show me a gator 5' long and Ill be wrestling it before you get the words out of your mouth.
