Factors to breed?

Hi. I have two dempseys in a 55 and I want to know the factors for them to breed. Yesterday, for the first time Ive seen, they were mouth-wrestling. The Male won it seems because the female went crazy and started bouncing off the tank. Now, they are okay. Is this a sign?

Does Sunlight also affect? I heard couple stories where fish started breeding right when they were put in the sunlight.

Now that I notice, my fish rarely get sunlight except for a little coming through a window.
 
Well, I took pics but it was hard because everytime my fish see me, they go crazy for food. Well, my male has his color very dark and beautiful. I got one picture of his color :D They are both around 4 inches. Male a little over 4 inches probably

The lighter color is female and nice rich dark color is male. I finally got a good pic! :D

If by fine you mean swiming the tank together then yes this si a sign of breeding :)
 
PLus, they sleep next to each other ;D What is it about the sexual organs? When they are ready it comes out?
 
yes and best way I've seen is a little privacy.. Like where they hide maybe turn it away fromt he front of the tank.. but if they breed without turnign it.. That is even better:)
 
Should i put in a pipe? alot of ppl put in pipes for their fish dont they?
 
ther flat spawners and wow realy nice jd i am growing on 3 now the about 2-3.5inch, just put a couple of flat rocks around wer the hang out and maybe raise the temp abit not alot tho jd get more aggressive when temp is high like mine lol and start feeding them good stuff any thing life or frozen but stay on beafheart its not that good for them and i dont use them but feeder fish if you do but its not a must feed. GL
 
I like to feed them frzn bloodworms, occasional brine shrimp, staple flakes and once in a while shrimp. Is this a good diet? are there any other foods i should add in?
