LOL, and Polomax doesn't know who his supplier was? C'mon, slow down and use your head for a minute. If you imported a wild caught fish, and it turned out like this, I'm pretty sure you would remember who supplied that fish. Am I missing something here?
Back in that period of time Conkel was one of the only people importing and supplying fish from that part of the world, and while almost all of his larger fish were being sold as adults, many people (rightfully so IMHO) believed that a good portion of those were pond raised fish. Conkel/Gage also mentioned to the piebald Zo owner that he/they previously sold a pair of piebald Bifa.
If Polomox used a different supplier, then it would be in your best interest to name that supplier, so that the sale of these fish are transparent to all potential buyers. Is that not a fair question for someone to ask when you state that the original male that carries this gene was wild?
Oh, and Conkel didn't have a piebald Zo - that is exactly my point! Only a blind man would call the fish shown in those pics to be a pure zonatus.
