So I've been doing some thinking and I've decided to try a little project. It's called load up my 120 Fahaka tank with loaches and convicts and hope that out of of the many few of each survive. I've decided to do this based on two cases where a goldfish has survived in a tank with a fahaka. One case occurred with myself when I had my first fahaka, and I saw another person with the same thing. The goldfish on both occasions was intended to be a feeder, and then turned into a friend which grew big and fat. Wish me luck:D

Poor little fish..... Don't bother with tankmates.... it's way cruel

Although i agree with the above poster that it basically is a suicide mission for any of the tank mates you put in with your fahaka, it could still end up working out for at least a little while... so i guess its your call if you want to risk the fish or not even though there's a high chance they'll get killed...

I'll trade you feeders for your clown loaches you plan on using for the experiment :) It will end up being the same for your fahaka... food.

Good luck ... i took a friends 4" fahaka due to his tank bursting .. over night it took out 7"doovi, jag cichlids and some other fish .. aggressive buggas but ive kept it and is alot of fun .. like a wee puppy ;D

There's a 2" fahaka at my LFS that took out a whole tank of much larger fish.

I've never tried tank mates with a Fahaka and I never will. It seems like a complete waste of money.

I know there's a good chance he can turn on them at any moment but, the burmese loach that has survived in there has been in there since before he got there, i bought 6 baby convicts a week ago and all six are still there. He just really seems to hate golden algae eaters. I had 9 and there are two left. I'm hoping (praying actually) that the Fahaka leaves them alone due to laziness in casing them around. I have a good feeling about the convicts and the loach. Not so sure about the algae eaters because they are super stupid.

I say go for it!!! Thou largely depends on the Fahaka. When you add, just put lots of hiding spots and be ready to watch the tank for a few hours if you need to save the fish.

Here is an old super combo of mine! :D

^ Thats a combo i've always wanted to try... although i'd be too worried the Fahaka would kill the ray...
