He is about 8-9" with tail.. I don't have him on a heavy feeding regimen, so he isn't as growing as fast as most Fahakas would. However, He seems more active than any other Fahaka I have ever seen!
The African Cichlid is his long time buddy.. they have been togethor for a while. I had a number of different fish in with him from time to time, but once this African got bigger he started harassing the others.. I slowly removed them all (The fahaka did NOT eat them).. and gave them away as freebie fish.. It used to be the fahaka tank is usually where old cichlids end up when we run out of tankspace, if they can't hang, such is life.
A few tankmates I succesfuly had in with my Fahaka off and on since I owned him at 1".. Pikes, Severums, Africans, and Tinfoils.. All fast moving fish that would mind their own business.. They simply ignored each other, but all feared the Fahaka immensely. I failed with Buttikoferi (aggression) and Polypterus (lunch) as well as a few other dumb ideas.. (dwarf puffers..)
In True MFK Fashion ~ Stretch the Limits, Fahakas CAN have tankmates!
