I know fahaka puffers are very aggressive fish. But before I knew this, it never occured to me at all, that puffer fish would be aggressive. Just decided to say that. Can anybody else relate?

All I can say is - that cute smile has BIG teeth! We love our Puffers! Here's our Fahaka, currently on webcam #1 ...

But yes, our Chompers is a cute, chubby and cheerful guy - but he goes after his food like a Piranah! :WHOA:

Lots/most of puffers are agressive, and not a fish I'd want to put my hand in the tank and wave my fingers at.

They look so cute that you wouldn't expect them to do any harm. They seem to go about their business in a more curious, non threatening manner, unlike my cichlids who are explosive and hyper agressive. My little 4" baby fahaka goes after my fingers all the time. It felt like pinching your fingers in a pair of pliers when he bit me once. I won't let that happen again.

my fahaka is a panzi. hs is 10 inches and in with all my south americans. my fahaka is a community fish. WTF

Same as mines lol xD its crazy to think a real aggressive puffer being in a community tank. What do u gots urs in with? Mines is in with cichlids and other mixed fishes,Like 1 silver arowana and a managuense and some peacock bass and other cichlids.

I'd like to get a Fahaka in the near future. They are purely freshwater right? The LFS man was telling me only dwarf puffers are FW for life.

Don't bother listening to a LFS about puffers. They know little to nothing about them. There are many, many FW species of pufferfish.

BTW, I have a friend that owned a 4" Fahaka that bit an 8" pleco in half!
