Thanks all for the input. I tried offering $60 for the fish, but the seller said the price was firm at $100.
I understand that the stability can change with the blink of an eye. I just figured if this fish is stable most of the time while in the seller's setup it would have a greater chance of being stable in mine. Maybe my logic is flawed, I haven't been keeping dats for very long at this point : )
T1, I understand your point - but I don't want to pay $100 for a fish if I can find one of equal (or better) quality elsewhere for 1/3rd the cost.
Gage, if nice 3-bar indos are not too hard to come by, can you point me in the right direction?! This is the first one I've been able to find for sale. The LFS's around here don't carry them - I have yet to see one for sale locally. Here is another picture of the fish I originally asked about. He doesn't look as thin in this shot, I don't know if the first shot was at an odd angle:
