Thanks. The fish are made of polymer clay & painted with oil paint. Materials available at most any hobby store. After the clay is fired, I immediately drop the fish into a bowl of ice water. This toughens them up more so that the pelvic fins won't snap off like peanut brittle.

Sweet, thanks for the pointers. Hopefully I'll have better luck with polymer than I've had with earthen ware. The oils really make the colors kick!
 
Thanks again everyone. Working on tilapia now. Thought it would be an easy fish to do since they look kinda basic in shape but so far I'm wrong. Sometimes simple is hard! If the contours aren't just right, the fish looks like a different type of cichlid than it's meant to be.
 
Thanx! Coming from you that's a huge compliment. My fake fish are no match against your real fish as far as being impressive. I've drooled over your ever changing collection for the past three years on this site. If I had your fish I'd be thumbing my nose at everything lol.
