When I set up my malawi tank rather than go for the standard look I thought I'd use well weathered ocean rock and try for a reef look without the hassle of true marine. The fish love it as it has loads of hidey holes and it buffers the water well, they are all healthy and breeding well. All comments welcome please let me know what you think.

For positives it looks good. For criticisms, get a background to hide the tubes and wiring, wipe down the glass and angle the camera more to eliminate flashback. The africans can make that look just about as colorful as a marine tank.

The rock looks good thats what i put in my african tank. I use aquaglo bulbs in my tank it gives it a real nice look with the rock. and a black background to let the fish and rock stnad out better.

agree with majority of the posts above- perhaps make it into 3-d background as well?

as everyone else said, ditch the nickelodeon decor!!! :) i think a darker substrate would really make the colors of the fish pop
