Is there a for sure way to tell males from females in this type of fish? What age is it visable etc. I have one and would like to eventually breed it. It is still a juvie so I would like to pair it up before it becomes an adult. Here are some pics of mine.

i think its too young to tell for sure, but if i were to take a wild guess, id say it could end up being a male

At what age can you tell the sex and what are the differences. I understand that the males get a hump on their head.

The only way I know how to tell the accurate sex of a gt is to vent it.

My gut feeling is telling me that that this is a female, but my gut is also telling me that I am hungry when I just ate a bowl of rice with chicken. How big is that GT?

It is about 3.5 to 4 inches. Closer to 4.5 if you include tail.

i think its a female looking at the shots where you can slightly see the vent also no trailers on the fins indicates female, people say you cant tell at this size but ive got a 3" max male which is definatley a male, easy to tell aswell.
