Fancy Goldfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've new to the computer. But i just wanted to ask if i could go ahead & put my baby corys that are about 1/2 in. long in my bigger aquarium in deeper water. Right now they in about 5 ins. water. They were hatched 7-26.

I read somewhere that they can be treated just like any other Goldfish. They are mutated for their looks which also makes it quite difficult for them to swim and get food with normal fish. However, I did find that keeping Fancy Goldfish around the mid to low 70's works a lot better than regular Goldfish which seem to do fine in lower temperatures.

if I remember correctly fancies shouldnt be exposed to anything under 50 degrees for a period of time. They may be goldfish, but they are not as hardy as there carp like brothers the coms and comets.

my fancy goldfish seem to do better outside. No TLC for them and they come out nice due to the green water but slowed growth due to less food.

! HAVE 3-30 GAL. 1-20 GAL. 2-10 GAL. & 1-2 0R 3 GAL.AQUARIUMS W/ 1 MALE & 1 FEMALE GOURAMI, BLACK & DALMATION MOLLIES, PLATTIES, GUPPYS, 12 GLOWFISH, SOME CHINEESE ALGAE EATERS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE SIAMEESE, ABOUT 25 BIG CORYS & 4 BABY CORYS LEFT. i WAS THINKING OF PUTTING THEM IN THE LITTLE AQUARIUM.

Fantails will do great in a room temp. tank. Probally best to house them w/other fantails or really slow moving fish. Look to find slow sinking food for them.
