Just got 2 of these guys, I must say they look different from the laps I normally see. They were mixed with Dabolas and I got confused as to which was which when they were just released with very faint markings, Anyway, took some shots of them while under quarantine at the LFS. These were taken today after 5 days of quarantine, tml I will be bringing them home. can't wait for them to colour up in my tank.

Lap no1, this pc got me very confused when I was choosing when they arrived. Couldn't tell if it was a Dabola or Lap. In the end I took this one because I felt it was more unique. But trufully, I'm still not 100% what it is even after the markings became quite clear. I'm thinking Lap, any one wanna comment? I'm curious what others think.

Lap no2, I was choosing between this pc and lap no1 for the longest time(5hrs ). I took no1 but I really wanted a Lap so in case Lap no1 turned out to be a dabola, I went back the next day and reserved this pc too. I'm pretty sure this pc is a Lap.

I welcome any comments on these guys from everyone, this is the first time I have seen this look, markings are similar to Tikinsso guinea laps but the head and body shape is different. Also these guys r abt 16" to 17". The biggest my tikinsso got to was 12", I haven't seen any IRL bigger then 14". This could be what I have been looking for in the last few yrs. tikinsso markings in big sizes.:headbang2

Its hard to tell the headshape from the pics but from the markings the first pc does look alot like sp. Dabola. I would pick up both.

I did haha.

Here are some old pics of my two other dabolas for comparison.

Notice that both have 6 bands while Lap no 1 has 7. They are also much closer on Lap no1. I have seen one other Dabola that had more then 6 bands but that pc was a special pc. But I do agree that it still looks a lot like a Dabola, as I said, I'm still not 100% either way.

WOW! Im gonna move to Singapore xD

Indeed first on elook a bit like dabola but feels like front is fading into lap :P Any of the species it is still an awesome pc!

Ok, so they are back home with me already. Gonna let them settle down a bit before i start taking photos. But i am suspecting lap 1 is actually a dabola. More or less it ticks all the right boxes. Gotta wait for it to colour up before i can do a confirm id. Lap 2 is has a higher potential to be a lap. But it too is looking more like a dabola. I guess only time will tell now.

Been rearranging my sump the last few days, water hasn't been too gd so didn't
take photos. But finally water cleared up today so took some shots of the Faranahs. Not yet stable but able to see markings.

Faranah Lap 1 (suspected Dabola) I'm still not 100% convince either way. Gonna wait until it fully colors up before I make a call.

Faranah Lap 2, This guy is taking longer to settle down. Quite shy so only manage to get a few lousy shots. I think this guy is a confirmed ID lap.
