My mala doesn't eat in front of me, but I feed him every day. I'm sure he'd go after his meal more aggressively if I fed him every few days like a lot of people do.

they didn't let me get 29g, my friend taught me. bring the tank home first, see what can they do about it. So i paid for the tank and called a taxi home, my father helped me carry it to the apartment and got me tank stand.

There is also one thing i dun like my wolf is that in youtube, other people's mala moves actively when they throw shrimp in, but my mala doesn't move at all. I am just jealous.

yea...i used to just bring tanks home when my parents werent around...
eventually i had almost 15 tanks...
then my parents got really mad one day.

your wolf is probably very uncomfortable in your tank.
its kinda cramped and very bare.
i actually noticed that when there was any parts of the bottom that didnt have gravel or sand, the wolves were really inactive and sluggish.
but when there was alot of gravel everywhere, they were very active and swam up to eat from my hands.

ah so fill gravels everywhere? thx so much, i removed some gravels and decor, because when it goes crazy it bumps everywhere and hurt its teeth.

Thats because a 29g is way to small for a mala ;)

Yeah you really should add some kind of cave IMO. That way he can feel safe and you will probably see him swim more. Mala's are ambush predators so he will never be an active fish. If you want him to eat in front of you you should only feed him 2 times a week. It is likely he will be a little more hungry and come up for the food plus it will stunt his growth a little so he does not outgrow the 29 real fast. I have had Rainbows also and to me the were a little more active but they more less just sat on the bottom like my Mala's. I personally think a 29 would be fine for a Rainbow for life but that is just me. Good Luck in whatever you choose to do!!

theres ways to do it without harming the fish.;)

ya i have been feeding him two times a week, feed shrimps it doesn't eat in front of me but if i feed live feeders, it eats whenever feeders swim to him. But feeders make water smelly and feed shrimps too recently also clouds the water.
