Hello whoever is reading this, if you have read my previous threads, you would think that I have probably screwed up again.

But NO! I have not screwed up yet. So I'm doing my research and wondering what fishes i can keep in a 30g tank that I'm going to get.

I was thinking of active fishes, Fishes like Giant Danios? Or are they too active?

And no, please don't suggest stuff like neon tetras or whatever cause i'm sick of how absolutely puny they are.

Or do you think it is suitable for lobsters or crabs kind of thing?

Neither crayfish nor crabs will work except perhaps the dwarf species of crayfish. If you hope to obtain more information on dwarf crayfish, please post a separate thread about it in Freshwater Invertebrates section so you will get more accurate responses there from the crayfish enthusiasts themselves.

Giant danios can certainly work but be aware that as these are rather feisty, you need to make sure their tankmates are also getting their fair share of food. What other fish fascinate you? Perhaps some blind cave tetras, exodons or Buenos Aires tetras? When you decide on your fish, your option to keep invertebrates will also change since there are other fish are completely incompatible with invertebrates.

upside down catfish, your tank might be too small for those fast fishes

Depends on what kind of crab, right? I did a 5g seashore biotope. All harvested from a nearby dog-walking beach. The little shore crabs (I think they are called Yellow Crabs) are very hardy and don't mind elevated temps. And they eat algae and other small foods, so all you have to do is bring in fresh rocks from the beach every few days, along with seaweed, etc. Other than that, it was standard maintenance.

Smartlove, it depends which upside down catfish you're talking about. Were you talking about Mystus leucophasis? Peewee may be suggesting Synodontis nigriventris in which case that particular catfish should work just fine in a 30g.

oh yea..you are right lupin..there are 2 varieties of upside down catfishes. synodotis will be fine in a 30 gallon. sorry for that

you can have a crab setup with a brackishwater setup with a land portion for some fiddler crabs

Thanks guys. Sad to hear that Giant Danios may be too active for the tank... I think I'll go for the upside down catfishes and maybe if my mom allows me to get a bigger tank, I will go get the Danios.

I was just wondering, are there any types of crabs which are fully aquatic yet small?
