This is the top of the overflow. It has two 1 1/2" pipes. Originally he just had two 6" stand pipes at the bottom. But that was really LOUD. So I made a couple of Dursos and they fit perfectly. Super quiet.
The two pipes empty into the left side of the 55 sump. I capped the bottom of of the pipes and drilled a bunch of holes so that they spray the two filter socks evenly. The socks are just held on with a couple of Dewalt squeeze clamps. Easy on, easy off.
After the socks, the water is pulled by the pump through a ton a bio balls in a mesh bag and some material I took from my other tanks. The titanium heater is located there as well. Pump then sends the water back thought two returns.
Pretty simple system but seems to work great.
