The name red terror has been interchangeable for both festae, and uropthalmus for a long time (whether we aquarists like it or not), just as the name red devil is used for a number of Amphilophus species, and the term Texas cichlid seems to apply to a number of the Herichthys carpintus complex.
Using these common terms only adds to the confusion.
If you want a festae you must ask for, and use the name festae, and buy from a reputable source if you really want one. Using the name red terror leaves you open to all manner of mistakes.
It's too bad it's like this, but it's the reality.
