Silver Aro can even reach 2ft in the first year if fed very well and provided a large enough tank. In my own experience on raising silver aros I had mine reach 2ft from 10"-11" in 5-6 months.

Well ive gpt them both around the same size but different times... Ck at round 4 silver at bout 5 and ive had the ck double within like 3 or 4 months and the aro although growing steady is in a rut at the moment hes about a foot

My Silver Aro went from 1" with yolk sack, to 22" in about 14 months. And that was in a 75 growout tank. He grew from 22" to about 30" over the next 4 years in an 800 gallon, then sadly he was lost in a fire :(
 
Silver aro. I have gotten them to 18 inches plus in a year. Ck usually around 12 inches.

Side note, both south american red tail catfish and redline snakeheads surpass that by a long shot. Got both to over 24 inches in less than a year. I wish we could still keep snakeheads in the states. Maybe I need to just move to asia, canada is too cold and I dont want to starting ending my sentences with "ay"
