Well I got driftwood from my local pond shop and (3) and they are big, they are in the 220 and one is about 5 1/2 ft. long, one is 3ft long and one is shaped like an L to keep them up, they have been floating in the 220 for a couple of days now (well 2 exactly) and have went down a very little bit,

what would be the quickest way to sink them? the 3ft. long has bricks on it to hold it down...

thanks.

Just do waht youre doing. It will sink eventually, not much you can do to speed it up, just make sure all of the wood is submerged though.

i predrill the driftwood then drill a hole thru slate and attach it to the driftwood with stainless steel screws-Anne

I once had a piece of driftwood that NEVER settled and just floated around the tank in the middle, some of the plants eventually stuck to it and it was a hiding spot for fish, so I thought it was cool and left it.

I find it easiest to buy driftwood that sinks. Otherwise I use bricks to hold it down as well.

they're pretty big so the ole slate method will probably not work the weight needed would be hard to find a peice that big i would go ghetto tye some bricks to them untill they sink shouldnt take long maybe i've had a peice float for a month as soon as i decided i liked a floating peice the bugger dropped like a rock.
