fastest way to sink driftwood?

I'd be nervous about a piece of wood that big banging into the side of my tank. Especially something as nice as a 210.

well in the 220 my dad pinned the wood down with a stick... the stick touches the top of the tank and just pins the wood to the bottom... hopefully that will work.

*edit* just read the article... I bought my wood from hardscape pond supplies so I would think that it has been in water or is meant to sink... well thanks for the response

I found a huge peice of wood(3 or 4') and put it in a trash can wil water. 2 weeks and a month and a half in my tank and it still floats

well I went to the creek and got some wood that sinks... I don't know... do you think it should stay barebottom with 3 peices of driftwood or just empty.......
