Fat Female Flowerhorn possibly stuck eggs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
OK guys I have her a massage, she seemed to like it/know I was trying to help.

I held her vertical in the flowing water and gently rubbed down the bulge, first few times a clear/milky liquid came out, then it changed to orange, then after a minute or so it turned yellowy red.

Now the bulge has gone, she is still floating at the bottom of the tank.

People mentioned secondary infections, the medication I have available is:

Aquari-Cycline
Doxycycline
Blue Planet: Multi-Cure
Amoxycillin
And about 8 tablets of 400mg Metro

sorry for your loss of her. did any eggs come out when stripping her? The red/orange was probably blood and pus.

No eggs, just blood and puss. She died about 15 mins after I gave her a massage....

No idea why that happened, she had layed before with a male, I don't know why she died so fast

I showed a picture of her to a local flowerhorn breeder.... Apparently this was bloat...

It was the massage that killed her, caused internal hemorrhaging, metro would have fixed her up in a few days.

Just an FYI....

it was not bloat. If you had a bloated fish and did the massage would have not have gotten the discharge
