Fat fish? Whats the deal?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You know they say that pets look like their owners. We might want to remember that.

When people say "fat and Healthy" they don't generally mean overwieght, just well fed and showing good color.

I detest the huge number of over weight...'power' fed RTC's I see turned back into the fish store. Fat fish are the direct result of people wanting 'instant' monsters and stuffing them full 3 or 4 times a day.

It takes a great deal of time and patiance to properly grow out a fish even as fast growing as a RTC let alone others. If you don't want to pay the premium for ADULT monsters then at least relax while your babys grow.

How many posts have you seen on MFK of people getting rid of half grown fish because of bordom and a desire to move on to the next 'COOL' BA fish.
greeat post agree 100%

power feeding... if done right tho... can be a good thing... i'm not saying over feed the fish... there is a limit... but like feeding multiple times a day... with a certain high protein food... or feeding at specific times can promote growth... depends on the metabolism of the species also
