yea there are "feeders" in there but don't think he every managed to catch one.
he always tried to get the biggest convict but she always managed get back into her cave (in a hollow driftwood) right before he lays his jaws on her.

hunger is an excellent motivator. his success ratio may improve. Regardless, he's not gonna starve anyway. they have incredibly slow metabolisms, and you know what a skinny rhom looks like,and I'm sure your not going to let him waste away.

yea I know he won't starve, it's more of my problem that I want to see him eat.
I'm sure he can last more than a month without food, probably even more but I'll aim for 7 days first, then maybe a little longer down the road once I get used to no feed him so often

i wouldn't feed a rhom that size more than once a week for a normal feeding schedule... i wouldn't put him on a diet or anything, i'd just switch to a permanent once a week feeding schedule and he should balance out over time.

That is a great looking Rhom. I can't wait for my Rhom. to get that big. But, watching him grow is awesome. Mine right now is just a squirt, but a great fish. Good luck with your piranha.

yea I remember rb32's reds..I don't think I've seen any rhoms gotten that fat. probably because people usually over feed pygos just to reduce the chance they turn on to each other due to hunger and with solo P's there's no such concern.
I'm gonna stick to the once a week feeding schedule.
