So, few weeks ago i bought a AFT from my LFS Labeled FATF (i'm pretty sure it's not GATF), the ATF now around 4 inches and last night I added 2x 5.5~6 inches Red tail Barracudas. As first my ATF freaking out when its saw new fishes in his tank but after 30 minutes he started shoal along with cudas and start beating on those 2 tank mates and he much smaller than those 2 cudas. Its also stopped eating too (he was eating like a pig, I fed him live feeders), Is it a bad sigh? or it is a bad combination? (tank size 6x2x2 foots with close to 10000 GPH flow).

It's normal for an ATF to beat on other tankmates especially other silvery fish. Eventually though the ATF will kill the cuda's. If you don't want them to die, you should either separate them or add more silvery fish that will also shoal with them such as tinfoil barbs or silver dollars. That way the ATF's aggression is focused on everyone, not just the cuda's. As for it not eating, my best guess is just it's either adjusting to the new tankmates or it's shedding teeth

Thank you! I'm thinking to add more Hujeta Gars in place of Silver Dollars, it's easier for me to keep same diet fishes in the tank.

What are your water parameters? That's critical.

What were you feeding it and what are you now feeing it?

How much flow is in the tank?

What is the temp?

Can you post pics for positive ID?

Temp: 80F
PH: Neutral 7.0
Water parameter nearly perfect (nothing changed last few days or at least last few hours)
Water flow is 10500 GPH to be exact
Diet: he getting same food everyday.
It was doing fine before I add those cudas into the tank, now he just focus harassing those cudas more than anything else lol

i have a 5 inch FAFT with two 5-6 inch yellow tail cuda and one 6 inch plus red tail cuda. The comb is working great for me and the cuda group pellet trained the faft for me. Now I just need two more red tails.

It sounds like this may be stress through territoriality. To a young ATF, who instinctively knows that it is food for bigger fish, the cudas doubtlessly look like larger ATF. He is likely highly concerned about becoming food and is focusing on defense rather than eating.

Alternatively, have you by chance attempted to start pellet training about the time the cudas were introduced? That would certainly fulfill Occam's razor.

10.5K GPH? That's a bunch. How is it being delivered?

Sounds to me like you gave him enough room to fight for. Bet they'd cohab fine in a 75. That much room to a fish and whether it be an ATF, Dorado, Hoplias, or Payara, I'd expect it to be mean..... Give them less space and it's harder to justify fighting for.

I'd also like to point out that my experience with fatfs is that they tend to be scrappy little bastards. They're not quite in brevis territory, but scrappy.

Al's probably got the long and short of it though. That's a big old tank.
