If it's the one at Exotic Aquatics it's actually a Brazillan DME and WAY overpriced. Should be around $200 even for one that nice not $375!!!

If you decide on him grab him on a Sat/Sun and save the 25% that will still make him overpriced but more reasonable.

Thanks for the heads up.. yeah it was that one. Yeah no wonder I couldn't find alot of info under "chinese dragon".. lol I want to convert a 75g to a salt growout tank after seeing that guy.

You have any good info on the Brazil DME as far as size/aggression?

75g would be a perfect size tank for 1 with some damsels and or a clown fish as tank mates. They get around 2'.

As for agg..they are not too bad. They like raw clams, shrimp, squid, fish strips, etc. Great all around eel.

I'd set up the 75g with about 50lbs of LR with BIG caves "real sold" and get it up and running with about 10 damsels. After a month or two after your cycle and brown and red algae outbreaks and battles start shopping for your Braz DME.

Do a google for Muraena retifera or Reticulate Moray.

damn joe i wasnt expecting you to get one this soon.... guess im coming down there very soon to check this guy out.... awesome pick up great find...

No, not a Japanese dragon. It's Hawaiian. Japanese are red, Hawaiians are Orange with yellow. Still awesome though...

Agreed, I've had lots conversations on here and on SWF.com as well as done a lot of research as well. It was adv as a Jap by a reputable place and I have compared it to some of the liveaqauria ones over the last year for color match.

All indications are it's a Jap. Here is a clear pic difference of Jap and Hawaiian.

Seems the Japs come in additionals sub colorations.

nice pic...but the dragon on the left could be a female...since female is alot less vivid in color...regardless both are great eels
