Favorite bait/rig for catfish

I fish every now a then for catfish and I would suggest just using some night crawlers or chicken liver in a stocking. I have had really really good luck with night crawlers though its just a all around good bait. Here's a picture of one of the smaller ones I got the other night.

Nightcrawlers seems to be the go to bait. Iv tried but haven't had that much luck with it. Are you guys doing anything other than putting it on ur hook? A whole night crawler? And how far off the bottom are you fishing.

For channels, I use two rods, one with chicken livers on a sliding sinker rig and the other with anchovies or shad on a high-low rig. The livers tend to catch smaller cats, shaker striped bass, and small pikeminnows. The shad or anchovies are good for mostly medium/large channels and keeper sized stripers.

I was hopin someone from Maryland would see this. I'm fishing at Fort. Smallwood park. I plan on targeting the big channel cats down there.

Maryland blue and channel cats like chicken liver. Nightcrawlers are ok in small bodies of water but you need the liver stink bigger water.

i use whole bluegills, greenie, etc. up here, we catch mostly bullheads but i catch "larger" ones here with this bait. occasionally will get some bass n pikes as well

Where in Maryland is liberty resivor?id been interested to go there and try the baits you guys recommended.
