Favorite Cichlid Species?

This thread is to share your favorite cichlid/species of cichlid. Add a picture maybe?

Personally, while I absolutely love severums, my favorite cichlid species is none other than the basic convict cichlid. Why? Because, they are hardy, formidable, excellent parents, and I have witnessed them holding their own against much larger fish than them.

That's a pretty cool fish. And, yeah, but there isn't a cichlid forum for General Cichlids. They're each in their own category.

the family of cichlids have such wide variety.one of the things that sets cichlids above many fish is their parental care.i can't pick a favorite but my 4 main tanks have SA-chocolates,brasilinensis,helecki.CA-carpintis,loiselli,and the hybrid in my avatar

frontosa! if anything else ( and has to be one you keep currently ) my elec blue ahli! but i have many fish right now that are my faverite! LOL. but other then that, my chocolates/severums/ahlis/ well all my fish! cant choose just one! LOL
