It is not a LDA33, it is a L201. Sorry for your lost. Looks to be bloat so check your water parameter.

He was very active and not much of a hider. One time he stole a peice of krill right out of my 5" festaes mouth.
I do a 50-60% water change weekly. PH is always 7.2-7.4, Nirate never gets above 40ppm. hardness is moderate.
From all the hundreds of L201 I have imported just this year. The spotting, color, head shape suggest to me that it is a L201.
I also had some LDA33 from Brazil. If you look at them side by side, they look different as well.
L201 are very outgoing fish. It doesn't hide much and always out. But individual fish can vary. I always have a big group usually 25-40 of them in a tank so might be the reason why they are out going.
Try to keep your nitrate below 20ppm.

bloat...had a clown pleco for over a year that one night gorged himself on all tablets in the tank also meant for the other inhabitants. He blew up and died just within a few hours. The wafers/tablets tend to expand in the stomach when they soften up. Notice the same goes for my 2'ft catfish...when he eats the tablets, there's no indicator that he's eaten. Within a couple hours, his belly's nice and round
